Serving as a new hub for competition, innovation, and game development, the 70-seat Esports Arena is equipped with 40 competition-ready gaming stations, two full motion-rigged racing simulators, two streaming rooms, a state-of-the-art broadcast suite, and a dedicated varsity esports training room, all controlled from the live event production control room.
Students can visit the Arena between classes, attend gaming social nights, or cheer on the Bow Valley Bears varsity team.
This new 3500sq. ft (325sq. m) arena in Bow Valley College’s South Campus is the first in Calgary, and can be used to host tournaments, test game play and as a workspace for the college’s accelerator programs.
Bow Valley’s free accelerator programs offer a unique blend of educational sessions, one-on-one mentorship, hands-on workshops, pitch opportunities, and potential game development project funding.

Bow Valley celebrated the grand opening of the Esports Arena on September 25, 2024. The Arena was completed on-time and within budget.
