Canada Games Park Sports Complex

Located adjacent to Brock University’s main campus and within walking distance from the Athletes Village, Canada Games Park is a new $105M state-of-the-art sport facility in Niagara designed to inspire, transform and unify young athletes from across the country.

During the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games, the multi-sport facility hosted several different sport competitions and cultural celebrations throughout the week-long event.

The Construction Consortium – a unique partnership between Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games, Niagara Region, Brock University, City of St. Catharines, and City of Thorold – responsible for funding and managing the building of Canada Games Park as well as the rejuvenation of a few legacy venues for the Games.

Through a tender process, the Construction Corstium selected Applied Electronics as the Audio Visual Integrator of choice, responsible for designing, supplying and installing audio and visual systems throughout the sports complex.

Completed in April 2022, Canada Games Park boasts pro-grade sound systems designed large live events, digital signage throughout its unique athletic spaces, web and video conferencing for its meeting spaces, and a Crestron control system in all the rooms.

Canada Games Park Complex

  • The Walker Sports and Abilities Centre,  a 210,000 sq. ft. space that consists of two (2) NHL-sized ice-rinks with seating for approximage 1200 and 200, respectively;
  • A 6,000 sq. ft. Sport Performance Centre;
  • The 10,000 sq. ft. Brock-Niagara Health & Well-Being Centre;
  • A suspended 200m indoor track;
  • 8,000 sq. ft. of sport offices & meeting spaces;
  • A CSC Innovation Hall equipped with video conferencing for presentations;
  • A multipurpose fieldhouse that features four (4) gymnasiums, which can be configured into a centre court with approximately 700 telescoping permanent seats – all designed to be accessible for parasport;
  • Six (6) competition beach volleyball courts;
  • A cycling pavilion and storage facilities for outdoor sport equipment; 
  • A 400m track-and-field facility located outside of the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre; and
  • An AV control room.

From August 6-21, the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games held 18 sport competitions at venues across 13 municipalities in Niagara, including three (3) sports with Para-athletes and two (2) sports with Special Olympics athletes.
