Digicast are webcasting experts in creating and delivering content specifically for corporate communications. After 15 years of delivering innovative webcasting and event management services, Digicast recognized the need to optimize and renovate their facilities and infrastructure.

Applied Electronics elevates Digicast’s webcasting & virtual event productions with new NDI-based studio & IP infrastructure.

During the pandemic, the demand for Digicast’s webcasting services skyrocketed. They experienced a surge of businesses reaching out with the need propel their internal and external communications programs across digital channels to remote audiences everywhere, on a variety of platforms. Digicast required a remote live production solution that was cost-effective and allowed them to leverage some of their existing production equipment, while providing the potential to scale their operations to meet the growing demand.

Digicast approached Applied Electronics in 2021 to help scale its production operations with a new studio, a control room, and a superior bandwidth management infrastructure.

NDI Studio & IP Infrastructure

Digicast looked to Applied Electronics for consultation services to custom design a solution to meet their needs. They wanted the new studio to be developed quickly, and they required an adequate infrastructure to be in place prior to the new studio’s completion, which was scheduled Fall of 2022, in order to support the increased volume of streamed content produced on-site in their NDI studio as well as remotely by their field/remote content developers. They needed operational flexibility and reliability for their teams and clients.

Applied Electronics designed & engineered an NDI remote live production solution to meet Digicast’s increasingly complex production needs, while delivering a new IP infrastructure into Digicast’s new facility in Montreal.

The cloud-based IP solution provides Digicast more freedom to manipulate and distribute the acquired signals with agility. Their operators can easily change the layout of live presentations throughout the webcast, which simplifies the operator’s workflow, increases efficiency, ensures reliability, and improves the quality of the production.

NDI Remote Live Production Solution

Digicast’s new NDI-based production studios also boasts an adjacent, soundproofed meeting and observation room and a professional booth for simultaneous translation.

The large 25-foot LED video wall in its Notre-Dame studio makes a beautiful backdrop for any webcast program, while peripheral monitors display branding, content or remote speakers. The studio can be set up in any configuration, ranging from newsroom, lounge, roundtable, podium, and more.

Digicast has also maintains a Support & Service Maintenance Agreement with Applied Electronics.
